Rutherford County’s Russell Key honored with 2018 Middle Tennessee Chief Deputy Assessor of the Year Award

Rutherford County Chief Deputy Assessor of Property, Russell Key, was awarded the 2018 Middle Tennessee Chief Deputy Assessor of the Year Award before the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers at the Annual Winter Meeting on Dec. 7.

The award was presented on behalf of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers by the President, Chuck Jeffers.

“The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers proudly recognizes Russell Key for exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism and dedication in service to the citizens of Rutherford County and name him as Middle Tennessee Chief Deputy of the Year 2018,” Chuck Jeffers said.

Also on hand for the award ceremony was Will Denami, executive director of the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers, who said “Russell Key probably has the hardest job of any chief deputy in the state and he has done an excellent job for many years and he continues to display the professionalism and dedication to service that Rutherford County citizens can be proud of. Russell has done a great job and certainly has earned this award.”

“I have been honored to be part of the team in the Rutherford County Assessor’s office for the last 16 years, and I am very proud of what we have accomplished. We have a dedicated Assessor in Rob Mitchell, and we constantly strive to meet our growing communities needs. It is an honor to receive this award and to even be considered among so many highly qualified Chief Deputies across this state, Thank you,” said Russell Key, Rutherfor County Chief Deputy Assessor of Property.

The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers (TNAAO) is a professional organization composed of the elected officials serving as Assessors of Property in Tennessee. The TNAAO’s purpose is to work on behalf of the people of our great state to ensure fairness and uniformity in statutes regarding the assessment of property, as well as, to promote excellence through best practices and professionalism amongst those charged with this vital task.
